Position Summary:The Project Development Engineer's role entails estimating project costs (primarily Building Automation Controls) and conveying this information to senior management. This position involves meticulously determining all costs associated with a project and assisting the Client Services team in crafting a proposal that meets customer requirements, culminating in a proposed project budget. You will be accountable for managing response deadlines and ensuring clear communication with all team members involved in the opportunities. This role is specific to our divisions Southeast Region of the organization and are looking for someone that resides in Birmingham, AL or surrounding area. -Character Requirements:Integrity: being above board in all internal & external relationshipsDecisiveness: can sort through information and make appropriate and timely decisionsInitiative: recognizes opportunity and action without being asked Diligence: energized by being diligent in meeting deadlines and completing tasks on timeThoroughness: pays close attention to detail and produces accurate work in a timely fashionResponsibility: understands expectations and follows through in accomplishing them -Position responsibilities:Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a projectResponsible for generating proposal to Client Partners, Account Executive, or Performance Assurance ConsultantsResponsible for HVAC/HVAC Controls understanding and coordinating solutions with all partiesUtilize proprietary tools for cost estimatingGain understanding of various offers and estimate accordinglySite assessment and periodic audits to generate scope understandingSite walks with contractors and contractor evaluations

Prepare reporting that details line items of cost breakoutPresent cost estimate to managementReceive, organize, and review information from Client Partner, Account Executive, or Performance Assurance ConsultantResponsibility in reviewing technical requirements and understanding drawing packagesEvaluate market value of estimate to align with value driven opportunityTask management use of Asana, Airtable, and other tools to efficiently track hundreds of opportunities current stage and status to effectively communicate to team membersEnsure that deadlines are being met for opportunity responses both internally and externally bidWork closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to issue any change requestsHost bi-weekly coordination sessions with discipline leads to review bandwidth and align commitments against any projects in development or proposedInitiate the qualification process for new work requests by engaging with the Client Partner ManagerOther duties as assigned -Essential skills and qualifications:Bachelor of Science, Mathematics, or Engineering degree preferred, Bachelor of Arts in Business or Finance acceptableStrong working knowledge of HVAC and HVAC Controls (Building Automation Controls)Excellent time management and organization skillsExcellent analytical and math skillsProficient computer experience in Microsoft Office Products particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPointProficient using task management programs or knowledge of Asana and Airtable
