**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team in the Environmental Services Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment, including backhoes, bulldozers, compactors, and scrapers, in the performance of construction and maintenance tasks at the county landfill.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
* Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including daily checks on engine oil, transmission fluid, filters, and coolant fluid
* Operate light and heavy trucks
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervision

**Requirements**

* Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
* Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
