System One is currently seeking an Environmental Specialist on a 3 year contract position located in Calera, AL.

Environmental Specialist Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting in environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, and developing and implementing sustainability initiatives.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, minimize environmental impacts, and drive sustainable practices.
Monitor and ensure water quality compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Stay updated on evolving environmental regulations and proactively implement necessary changes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into daily operations.
Assess and mitigate environmental risks associated with company operations.


Environmental Specialist Requirements: Basic knowledge of environmental regulations, project management skills, and the ability to provide environmental collaboration within the organization.
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
One to five years of experience in environmental sampling and compliance.
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Working knowledge and experience with the operation of power boats and watercraft.
Project management skills with the ability to participate in a team setting on multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders.
Proficiency in environmental management software and data analysis tools.



Duration: 3 years
Location: Calera, AL
Pay Rate: $32/hr
